The Habersham County Historical Society is proud to participate in celebrating our Bicentennial Year! After a period of inactivity, we have planned this event to spark our public programs for the remainder of this bicentennial year.
Our featured speaker will be Mrs. Evelyn Davis Harmon; niece of Mr. Henry Davis, our famed Standard Telephone Company employee. Mr. Davis was employed with the company from 1917 to 1967. According to legend, he knew the names and numbers of every household with a telephone in the entire county!
We invite you to join us in making this event successful by your presence as well as sharing this announcement with your membership!
Free to the community. Thank you and we hope to see you there!
Mrs. Davis Harmon will share her personal Juneteenth history as an introduction to the oldest, nationally celebrated "holiday" commemorating
the Emancipation Proclamation in the United States.
